Kaela is a single-mom-by-choice to a wonderful and vibrant little girl named Abigail. Being a
single mom requires a village to be successful and thankfully, she has amazing family and
friends by her side every day. She and Abigail loves to spend a day at Disney World
chatting with the princesses or hanging out poolside at home with their dog Maui and cat
Merlin.
Professionally, Kaela is a Certified School Counselor and graduated from the University of
Central Florida in Orlando with both her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (2006)
and Master of Art degree in Counselor Education (2010). She has been an educator in the
Central Florida area for over ten years and most of her career has been especially working
with children diagnosed with a wide range of disabilities and their families. She has helped
families navigate the educational models of special education and continues to be a fierce
advocate for her students.
Kaela began to realize early on in her career that the school community is a vital part of any
family’s village, but its resources and support can only go so far. Through her research,
Kaela stumbled upon We Rock the Spectrum® a few years ago and has dreamed of
bringing this amazing community resource to the Orlando area ever since. Recently, she
called upon her village once again and her family and friends rallied around her for support.
Lori, Kaela’s mother, signed on as her business partner when she realized that there is an
incredible need for sensory gyms in today’s world.
Lori is a wife to Steve of forty plus years, mom to three grown children, and “Yia-Yia” to
Abigail, Lillie, Aksel, and Harper. She is a native Floridian who has worked in the medical
field her entire career. She continues to build strong community partnerships and is quickly
becoming an amazing advocate for sensory play.
The whole Cromer family truly believes that their individual paths have led to them to this
shared point where they have been called upon to serve the Orlando community. They
believe in equal access and inclusion for all children.
